In order to conform to the new "EU Battery Directive 2006/66/EC", Kenwood Corporation ceased delivering Nickel-Cadmium batteries into EU member states from 26th September 2008. Where stocks of Ni-Cd batteries exist in the distribution channel it is not prohibited to sell to customers, even after the transition period finishes.
