Kenwood Amateur Radio equipment in use at the 100th Rotary International Convention.


Rotary International held their 100th Anniversary Convention at the NEC in Birmingham at the end of June. Many Rotarians are also Amateur Radio operators, so they set up a “Special Event” radios station using the call sign “GB2RI” and in pride of place was a TS-480HX 200-watt HF transceiver loaned by Kenwood UK. Over the three days of the Convention they made around 500 contacts with stations in the UK and overseas, including other Rotarians, passing greetings messages and congratulations on their big day.”
